How to design, fill, prove and release the roles that are keeping your business dependent on you.
Define the box. Fill it with evidence. Prove the person. Release your name.
If you disappeared for three weeks starting tomorrow, what breaks first?
Build the chart you want, not the one you have. Write your name in every box you are still carrying yourself, then circle the one box to release next.
Hungry, Humble and People Smart is the example. Now define the three characteristics your school will screen for.
Build an attract-and-repel posting. The goal is not more applicants. It is more right applicants and fewer wrong ones.

Are you a fun and engaging person? Does working with kids energize you? Do you want to work at the coolest place in the US? (we're maybe a little biased)
Your music school is expanding and we need a guitar and piano teacher as cool as our students.
Our motto here is “Have fun while being the best”, does that fit you? Sure, we have a laid back atmosphere, but we also expect all of our teachers to be rockstar instructors. All in the hopes that we can help create little rockstars.
More than being a teacher though, you're going to be a mentor. We want our teachers to be someone the kids look up to. Sure, we are teaching music lessons every week, but it's more than that. Sometimes it's about checking in on the students' weekly lives. How's school going, how was your soccer game? Then we dive into learning music together and build a relationship with the kids.
We lean more towards the contemporary side of music, everything from Taylor Swift to Metallica.
Let's talk about how cool our recitals are for a minute. We're talking fog machines, amazing lights, huge screens, and a camera crew. Our mission is to give kids the rock star experience I always dreamed of as a kid.
If you're ready to be part of a music school that believes in doing something different and creating MASSIVE impact in the lives of kids, apply today.
Candidates with a college or university degree in music, or currently enrolled in a music program, are preferred but not required. Availability Mon to Fri 2 to 9PM is pretty important, as most of our students come to lessons after school.
Possibly the coolest part-time admin job ever · $15 to $17 per hour
How 'bout we skip right ahead to the center of the tootsie-pop? Our small business is located in Champlin, MN and Spring Lake Park, MN. We are biased, but we are pretty sure we are the coolest place to work for, ever. Honestly, the job is not all roses and puppy dogs. There is some good news and some bad news.
Bad news first: you won't get rich at this job. The pay is $15 to $17 an hour. It can be some extra spending money, for sure. However, if you are seeking a job to support a household, then this is no longer the coolest part-time admin job ever, it is now the suckiest part-time admin job ever. Review point 1.
Now the good stuff. Our studio is the coolest place ever. Exposed brick, beautiful floors, and video games in the lobby.
The work is fun, fresh and dynamic. You will work directly for our Impressions lead, helping with day-to-day customer service.
We aren't big on stress. We expect you to work efficiently and get things done, and we focus on open communication and getting things right the first time.
You will experience things, do things, and make decisions no big stuffy company would ever allow. We call it taking ownership. The best part is, you won't be judged for the decisions you make.
You need to be the type of person who gets joy out of getting things done. Every day, you will bang out a list of stuff. Fun stuff. Important stuff. Necessary stuff.
You will be on the computer a lot, so email, navigating the web, and general computer skills are necessary. You'll use our scheduling software to book students, process payments, and essentially run the mother ship.
Same structure every time, so the decision never rides on one lunch. Mark where your process currently stops.
Sketch your first ninety days. Pick the check-in points that would help a new hire understand the standard and prove fit.
Knowing everything you know today, would you enthusiastically rehire this person?
